PRIVATE VISAS
1. If you are applying for a private visa for more than one month, an original invitation letter issued by the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Republic of Kazakhstan is required. Your relatives or friends in Kazakhstan can obtain invitation from the local authorities of MIA and send it to your address in the USA. The period of stay in Kazakhstan is shown in a separate paragraph and cannot exceed 90 days.
2. A completed visa application (PDF document, Word document) (one per person).
3. Your original and valid passport, with at least one blank page for a visa. Your passport must be valid for at least six months longer than the terms of the requested visa. For example if requesting a one month visa, your passport must not expire for at least seven months. Please include a photocopy of the picture page of passport as well.
4. One passport size photo of the applicant.
5. A Money Order made payable to the Consulate General of Kazakhstan. We DO NOT accept cash, company or personal checks.
6. In order to receive your passport back please provide with the United States Postal Service (USPS) envelope only. Please note that the envelope must be pre-paid and self-addressed. For your convenience it is recommended to keep a tracking number of the return package so you can check the delivery status with USPS after five working days since the arrival of your request to the Consulate General. The Consulate will not accept any other type of mail (Do not send FedEx, UPS, DHL and other envelopes).
The Consulate General does not assume any liability for the loss of documents submitted or returned by regular mail.
Note: Applicants who are applying for their minor children must also include:
- a letter with a request to issue a visa addressed to the Consulate General of Kazakhstan. Please indicate the purpose of your trip, your contacts in Kazakhstan including their name and address, the dates of your planned trip, and cities to be visited;
- a completed visa application (PDF document, Word document) signed by one of the parents
- a copy of the parents' passport picture page;
- a copy of the child's birth certificate;
- a letter from the child's parent that is not traveling, stating they have no objection to the child's other parent taking him or her to Kazakhstan.
